On this #4 finish installation the customer decided to use three separate pieces instead of cutting everything out of one piece. The grain is running heightwise (vertically) and the pieces are hemmed on all sides. No trim was used, and instead the panels were simply abutted.

The panel has 90 degree flanges on all four sides, and brackets for mounting behind it. Installation was a breeze, and as you can see the fit is excellent.

For a truly flat backsplash, use our VHB installation tape and RTV silicone sealant/adhesive. Of course, your substrate also has to be flat, and will ultimately decide how flat your installation will look.

This customer in Hawaii needed to give their fridge a facelift and didn't want the cost and hassle of installing a new one. We laminated #4 finish stainless steel panels to black, 1/4" thick HDPE plastic. The result is smooth panels that will never deteriorate, and are termite proof. The industrial grade contact cement provides a permanent, high-performance bond.

We typically recommend using screws to install any backsplash behind a grill or other high temp heat source. The reasoning is because the metal will slightly expand when exposed to high heat, and the screws will allow the necessary expansion so the panel doesn't warp. The gray areas of the two-tone finish darker as a result of the outdoor lighting.

We typically recommend using screws to install any backsplash behind a grill or other high temp heat source. The reasoning is because the metal will slightly expand when exposed to high heat, and the screws will allow the necessary expansion so the panel doesn't warp.

The edges were bent at a 90 degree angle, instead of hemming, and the customer "buried" these bends in the wall by making a cut in the drywall. This gave them a smooth, clean edge without adding the 1/8" thickness of the hemmed edges.
